Previously Papered Walls:

• Remove wallpaper (see How to Remove Wallpaper)
• Wash walls with a mild detergent
• Fill any holes or cracks in walls with spackling compound
• Sand lightly to remove any imperfections
• Wipe walls with a clean damp towel to remove dust
• Prime walls with a primer-sealer and let dry

Painted Walls:
